The landscape design has been integral in the therapy and rehabilitation of the patients positively contributing to their healing journey through the different units.
The central courtyard provides a calm and tranquil environment where the patients can use under supervision. The therapy courtyard is particularly designed to offer the patients the opportunity for therapy through gardening, while the unit courtyards are designed to provide a social but also sheltered space for the patients to use as an extension of their rooms. The river feature which ‘runs’ through all the courtyards, with entrenched artwork created by the patients themselves, is a symbol of the continuation and progress of their healing journey.
